In January 2012, Kazakhstan had a total of 30 registered football clubs; with 14 full size synthetic pitches. Overall player participation saw a 16% increase since 2004.
Seen in the photo above is The Astana Arena, home of the national football team of Kazakhstan, it obtained the FIFA 2 Star certification for the fourth time in 2012, confirming the quality and the reliability of the surface for football matches.
On the subject of football development through synthetic turf pitches, Saken Abdreshov, Specialist of International Department, Football Federation of Kazakhstan said “On 1st February 2009 we had 9 synthetic pitches with under heating and 5 without. In a few years we will oblige each club to have their own artificial field with under turf heating to play matches during the winter”
